ఇండియాలో భవిష్యత్తు స్టీలు పరిశ్రమదే ......

         స్వాతంత్రయం పూర్వం నుండే అభివ్రుద్ది చెందిన పరిశ్రమలలో స్టీలు పరిశ్రమ ఒకటి.గ్రుహనిర్మాణాలకు గాని రైల్వే నిర్మాణాల లాంటి మొదలగు పరిశ్రమలకు స్టీలు ఉపయూగం వుంటుంది.అందువలన వేగవంతంగా అభివ్రుద్ది చెందబోతున్న పరిశ్రమలలో స్టీలు పరిశ్రమ ఒకటి.2002-2003 నుండి 2006-2007  వరకు సంవత్సరానికి 8% చొప్పున స్టీలు ఉత్పత్తి అయింది.ప్రస్తుత ప్రపంచపు సరాసరి ఉత్పత్తి 150కెజిలు కాగా,అభివ్రుద్ది చెందిన దేశాల సరాసరి ఉత్పత్తి 400 కె.జిలు గా వుంది.కాని 2006-2007 ప్రకారం మనదేశం కేవలం 46 కె.జిల ఉత్పత్తి మాత్రమే జరిగింది.అయితే 2012 ప్రకారం124 మిలియన్ల లక్ష్యం పెట్టుకోగా 2020 వరకు 275 మిలియన్ల టన్నుల ఉత్పత్తి లక్ష్యంగా పెట్టుకుంది.కావున భవిష్యత్తులో స్టీలు పరిశ్రమదే అగ్రస్తానం అవుతుంది అనుటలో సందేహంలేదు
1907: Tata Iron and Steel Company set up.
1913: Production of steel begins in India.
1918: The Indian Iron & Steel Co. set up by Burn & Co. to compete with Tata Iron and Steel Co.
1923: Mysore Iron and Steel Company set up
1939: Steel Corporation of Bengal set up
1948: A new Industrial Policy Statement states that new ventures in the iron and steel industry
are to be undertaken only by the central government.
1954: Hindustan Steel is created to oversee the Rourkela plant.
1959: Hindustan Steel is responsible for two more plants in Bhilai and Durgapur.
1964: Bokaro Steel Ltd. is created.
1973: The Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) is created as a holding company to oversee most of
India's iron and steel production.
1989: SAIL acquired Vivesvata Iron and Steel Ltd.
1993: India sets plans in motion to partially privatize SAIL.
